Jordan Brand has, over the years, paid homage to Michael Jordan's alma mater, the University of North Carolina (UNC). The previous versions of Air Jordans, such as 1, 3, 4, 6, and 9, have featured the iconic University Blue of UNC. For the upcoming release of Air Jordan 6 'UNC', this blue shade once again takes center stage.
In a playful color blocking style known as "Carmine", these sneakers have a white base with University Blue and navy accents throughout. The upper showcases a contrasting combination of blue and white colors, while the interior and heel pull-tabs are black.
The tribal pattern that is commonly found on the Air Jordan 7 is depicted on the transparent tongue and insoles of these sneakers. On the heels, you'll notice a patch that has been associated with school-inspired releases such as the 'Oregon' and 'Michigan' Air Jordan 5s. More recently, this scholastic mark has also been seen on the Air Jordan 4 'UNC'. So, keep an eye out for these different variations to distinguish between authentic and counterfeit Jordan 6s.
The Air Jordan 6 'UNC' continues the series of Retro releases by the brand. These releases draw inspiration from esteemed college athletic programs such as Michigan, Oregon, and Georgetown.
